Makeup Ride or Die TAG

I was inspired to do this Ride or Die tag by French blogger sweetgeeky. Make sure you check her out!

Foundation: Clinique Superbalanced Makeup. It’s obvious by now that I’m a Clinique fangirl. I’ve tried so many foundations and there’s always something I find disappointing about them: they’re either too matte and make my 36-year-old skin look like it’s 56; or they can’t resist my 36-year-old oily skin and break up within a couple of hours. The Clinique Superbalanced foundation doesn’t make me look older nor oilier and that’s no mean feat.

Concealer: Bourjois Radiance Reveal. I’m still on the lookout for the best concealer on earth, but in the meantime I’ll keep using this one. It’s hydrating but not creaseproof (but on me, nothing is.)

Contour and highlight: NYX Pro-Palette. I know it’s not a global favourite, but to be fair I don’t contour that much and this palette will do. I have a soft spot for the highlighter because it’s subtle and has more of a wet look than a glittery one.

Loose Powder: Coty Airspun. I remember watching Tati’s videos and thinking she was the shit, hence I needed to get my hands on that powder she kept using. It’s cheap as hell (€15), will last you forever (SIXTY-FIVE GRAMS), does the job and smells like heaven.

Blush: Patrick Starrr x MAC Cosmetics Take me Home. I have rosacea so I tend to stay away from most blushes, but the lighter shade in this duo is definitely the only one I trust.

Palette: ABH Modern Renaissance. I don’t think there’s much to explain about it. It’s just really good. I do, however, think that the Soft Glam palette would suit me more because it’s more neutral, but I haven’t bought it yet.

Single eyeshadow: Makeup Revolution Baked Mono Eyeshadow (Limitless). This single eyeshadow cost me something like €1 or €2 and is by far the most insanely pigmented one in my collection. Unfortunately, these singles have been discontinued but I suspect something similar can be found in their Eye Foils collection.

Eyeliner: MAC Cosmetics Brushstroke liner. I struggled with winged eyeliner for years and this one is the only felt tip eyeliner that allowed me to achieve that look initially.

Mascara: Clinique High Impact Mascara. Oh, look, another Clinique product. I like it because it’s subtle and the wand doesn’t poke me in the eye each time I apply mascara.

Brows: Make Up Revolution Brow Pomade. Definitely a dupe for ABH Dipbrow. It does the job perfectly and guess what? It costs €5.99.

Lips: Clinique Chubby Stick Intense. A joke about my love for Clinique would be tiring at this point. It’s hydrating, pigmented as hell, you don’t need to line your lips beforehand, just throw this on and you’re out the door.

Brush: MAC Cosmetics 224S. I love it so much, sometimes I just want to use that one brush to do my entire eyelook (truthfully, sometimes I’m lazy AF and that’s what I do).

  1. You should definitely try the Soft Glam palette. I have Modern Renaissance and –while it’s gorgeous– I definitely find myself using Soft Glam more to create more looks. My only complaint is that the shadows are very soft and I’ve already broken one.

    Great picks! x
